Da 5 Bloods Music By Terence Blanchard

Directed by Spike Lee, Da 5 Bloods tells the story of four African-American Vets — Paul (Delroy Lindo), Otis (Clarke Peters), Eddie (Norm Lewis), and Melvin (Isiah Whitlock, Jr.) — who return to Vietnam to search for the remains of their fallen squad leader (Chadwick Boseman) and the promise of buried treasure. Joined by Paul’s concerned son (Jonathan Majors), the Bloods battle forces of Man and Nature — while confronted by the lasting trauma and immoralities of the Vietnam War.

When you go back to Vietnam, you gotta go big – legendary jazz musician and long-time Spike Lee collaborator & composer Terence Blanchard conducted a 90-piece orchestra live to picture to record the film’s score, and the result is classic, triumphant, and solemnly beautiful. The film’s action and gravitas is amplified by lush orchestral arrangements and Terence’s diverse musical palette. From the epic opening cue “What This Mission’s About” to the somber eulogy “MLK Assassinated,” the music of the film is a powerful accompaniment to Spike Lee’s bold exploration of history and humanity.

Da 5 Bloods is now streaming exclusively on Netflix.
