AUBADE: SENSUALIDAD
Milan Records once again captures the elegant and sensual vibe of the Aubade brand. This second volume in the Aubade series reinvents the passion of Aubade and reinterprets its reputation in music. Aubade, the renowned French lingerie company, was the first to position lingerie as a product affording pleasure for oneself and for one’s partner. While Volume 1 journeyed into the world of traditional and electronic Tango music, Sensualidad treats the listener to Salsa, Cuban music and more Latin sounds.

BEST OF LOS VAN VAN
On listening to these recordings of Los Van Van, the listener can feel all the attention paid to tone, harmony, and rhythm, which are at center of Juan Formell's work, the leader of Los Van Van. Milan Music has carefully chosen the pieces that make up this compilation with the greatest of care, allowing the listener to appreciate the very personal style of this composer. He expresses himself by using various instrumentations, as well as the specific sound of his orchestra which is both unique and diverse, both traditional and experimental. This sound has probably come the closest to capturing the essence of the Cuban people.

SALSA DE CUBA
By definition, salsa is neither a genre nor a specific musical rhythm. It is, quite simply, a name given to the tropical dance music created by the Fania All Stars at the end of the 1970s. It unites different Cuban rhythms, such as mambo, son, rumba and cha cha ch‡. Today the term is used by Puerto Ricans, Colombians and Cubans, and is part of a wider Latin music movement around the world. "Salsa de Cuba" brings together the best examples of Cuban salsa, from Adalberto Alvarez to La Charanga Habanera, part of the new generation of Cuban musicians exploring the traditional son and the timba cubana-the new term for all salsa music created in Cuba today.

BEST OF ARTURO SANDOVAL
Arturo Sandoval, often considered the best Cuban trumpet player, never accepted the music labels others tried to place upon him, labels which would have restrained his unique jazz style. Thus, in Sandoval's music one finds a rich diversity of repertoire: themes inspired as much by ballads and boleros as by danzons and sons. But ultimately, Sandoval's fundamental inspiration came from the vibrant Cuban music scene. This inspiration allowed him to fuse the best aspects of Cuban tradition and jazz. This album is more than a simple selection of Sandoval's most known and most representative songs. It is a testimony to his richness and creativity as an artist, to his timeless interpretations, and to the virtuosity of his improvisations

SOUL OF TIBETAN CHANT
Contains works by a variety of outstanding artists including some of India's most revered composers such as L. Subramaniam, Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, Zakir Hussain and Ali Akbar Khan. Selected works by these artists were incorporated into Bernardo Bertolucci's film "Little Buddha" and this album provides the opportunity of hearing them in a longer and more natural form.

TIET HAT QUE HUONG ENS - FROM SAIGON TO HANOI
FROM SAIGON TO HANOI takes the listener on a journey through Vietnam, introducing us to the most beautiful popular music characteristic of the three regions - the music of North, Central, and South Vietnam. These songs express the emotions and intensities of Vietnamese life.

TONANA - THE MYSTERY OF MAYAN CHANT
"Tonana brings us roots Mexico"...The Nation, September 14,2006. Tonana, one of the most representative contemporary Mexican singers, possesses a beautiful and exceptional voice. In the search of the new "Mexican sound," she resorts to musical fusion -- a hybridisation to combine popular discourses of rock, blues, jazz and new age with expressions of folkloric and traditional Mexican music. Her sound is modern and brazenly incorporates different instruments and combines them with pre-Hispanic Tzotzil, Zapoteco, Totonaca and Nahuatl languages.

YEAR OF THE DOG
Compiled by Indian director Deben Battacharya, the traditional sounds of Year of the Dog welcome us into the rich cultural heritage of China. Between 1983 and 1984, Battacharya traveled through China looking for authentic ritual music, born 3000 years ago with the Emperors of the great dynasties. The results of this quest are exceptional recordings of the highest quality. Ranging from instrumental music to opera, from lyrical tales with musical accompaniment to traditional music of national minorities, to the Ouigours along the Silk Road, these unique works are the reflection of an exceptionally creative and vibrant music.
