CARLOS GARDEL
This emotional compilation pays tribute to the legendary Carlos Gardel. It pays homage to his musical career and legacy. Included are the tangos he made popular, such as Guitarru Mia, the last song he recorded before his death, Milonga del 900, the tango that is said to best describe Gardel's personality, and the last song he performed in public - Tomo y Obligo.


 



ASTOR PIAZZOLLA - 4 SEASONS OF BUENOS AIRES
This recording is a complete rendition of one of the greatest works by the master of the Argentinean tango, Astor Piazzolla. Usually only fragments of Piazzolla's famous 4 Seasons of Buenos Aires are recorded. This version, interpreted and orchestrated by Egberto Gismonti and Jacqes Morelenbaum, includes the entire piece. Gismonti and Morelenbaum's admiration for Piazzolla inspired them to record the entire piece, infusing it with a modern Brazilian sound.


 



ASTOR PIAZZOLLA - ADIOS NONINO
Recorded in 1983, Adios Nonino features Piazzolla joined by pianist Pablo Ziegler, violinist Fernando Suarez Paz, basist Hector Console and guitarist Oscar Lopez Ruiz. Piazzolla tango influences mixed with jazz and classical genres has defined him in the world of music.


 



ASTOR PIAZZOLLA - ITINERARY OF A GENIUS
Often referred to as the originator of the "nuevo tango," Astor Piazzolla has composed over 1000 works and has influenced countless musicians. A soulful and accomplished performer on the accordian-like bandoneon, Piazzolla's many recordings placed him as a leading international composer. It has been ten years since his death. In tribute, Milan Records has assembled some of Piazzolla's most popular and cutting edge songs for this 10th Anniversary release.


 



ASTOR PIAZZOLLA - THE LAUSANNE CONCERT
This emblematic concert occured when Astor Piazzolla's music was at its high point, during his Sexteto European tour in 1989 and 1990. This recording takes place at his Moulin Musique performance in Lausanne, Switzerland on November 4, 1989. This concert was recorded by the Suisse Romande Radio to be broadcast during the holidays. The musicians who join Piazzolla on this recording formed an exciting dream-team and today are all major stars in the Buenos Aires Tango scene. This concert program is designed around Piazzzolla's compositions of this period, when his New Tango had reached maturity: Tanguedia III from the movie Tango, El Exilio de Gardel, Mumuki, dedicated to his wife Laura, as well as his most famous tune, Adios Nonino, dedicated to his grandfather, among others.


 



ASTOR PIAZZOLLA - MARIA DE BUENOS AIRES
On October 12, Milan Records will release Maria de Buenos Aires in the United States. This tango opera, named an 'operita,' is arguably Astor Piazzolla's greatest masterpiece. Piazzolla combined his efforts with Horacio Ferrer. Co-written on a libretto by Ferrer, it has been released in several versions including highlights and instrumental pieces. Milan Records is proud to release a new recording of this amazing opera in its entirety. This most recent interpretation has been recorded in Buenos Aires on September 3rd of 2003. The double CD includes all the pieces that Astor Piazzolla and Horacio Ferrer originally wrote for Maria de Buenos Aires.


 



ASTOR PIAZZOLLA - THE SOUL OF TANGO / GREATEST HITS
This compilation of some of Piazzolla’s greatest work seeks to unite some of his most memorable compositions as interpreted by the artest himself along with his talented musicians. One chapter is dedicated to his film compositions. The rest are all live recordings. He always believed that it was only in the heat of the concert hall that his best performances were born.

RICHARD GALLIANO: LUZ NEGRA

Richard Galliano is known as the master of accordion. Inspired by his mentor, Astor Piazzolla, Galliano turned a popular instrument into a universal one. Galliano composed Luz Negra under the influence of Latin-American melodies while recording in São Paulo. This is his first studio recording since 2001's “Face to Face.”


 



RICHARD GALLIANO: TANGARIA DVD
Richard Galliano: Tangaria Quartet was recorded live during Jazz In Marciac on August 6, 2006. Marciac is a quaint, sleepy town in South-Western France that comes to life during the summer months when it hosts a massive jazz festival. The festival will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year. Tangaria features the music of its world-renowned members – Richard Galliano, Alexis Cardenas, Philippe Aerts, and Rafaël Mejias, as well as their special guest, Hamilton de Holanda on mandolin.
