About the Soundtrack
Stoned chronicles the life and suspicious death of Rolling Stones original guitarist and co-founder Brian Jones (Gregory), who was found at the bottom of his swimming pool weeks after being let go from the band. Packed with sex, drugs and rock and roll, the film explores the wild and wicked world of Brian Jones.

According to Variety, maverick British producer Stephen Woolley spent a decade developing his project about Jones’ mysterious death before deciding that he was too immersed in the material to let anyone else direct it.

Jones was the consummate artist, pop star, fashion icon and womanizer. During the seven short years of his glittering rise to stardom, and fateful plummet between 1962 and 1969, he became a music legend by creating The Rolling Stones, one of the greatest rock and roll bands ever seen.

Described as one of the most decadent men of the 20th century, he rebelled against everything; when he wasn’t hating the world, he adored it. However, his copious consumption of drugs and alcohol was legendary and fueled a vicious temper.

This is not the story of The Rolling Stones. This is a murder mystery about the death of one of the most talented musicians of the 1960s. He died at the hands of someone he barely knew, on a friendless summer night, having cried wolf for the very last time.

The Stoned soundtrack compliments the film, including ’60s-fueled rock and roll, new renditions of rock classics and David Arnold’s eclectic score, songs from the hit British band, The Band of Bees (aka The Bees), and Kula Shaker’s version of Dylan’s “Ballad of a Thin Man.” Stoned creates a musical journey through one of the most infamous rock and roll deaths of all time.
