PAPRIKA
Paprika is a Japanese animated film, based on Yasutaka Tsutsui's 1993 novel about a female detective who investigates criminal cases by entering the dreams of her subjects. Susuma Hirasawa is one of Japan’s most cutting-edge electronic musicians. He intricately weaves electronic music and voice with organic instruments to create an orchestral experience unlike anything you’ve ever heard. To quote the New York Film Festival, "This delightful movie is bursting with ideas about Japanese repression, multiple identities, collective dreams and the dark side of the country's love of Cute."

PAN'S LABYRINTH
PAN'S LABYRINTH unfolds through the eyes of Ofelia, a dreamy little girl who is uprooted to a rural military outpost commanded by her new stepfather. Ofelia lives out her own dark fable as she confronts monsters both otherworldly and human. Spanish composer, Javier Navarrete brings the music of Pan's Labyrinth alive. It captures the fantastical mood of the film - a fairy tale fantasy for adults, set against the backdrop of the Spanish Civil War - with all of the tension and imagination of this rich, layered film.

PRINCESS MONONOKE: SYMPHONIC SUITE
At the end of 1999, Producer and Composer Joe Hisaishi brought you the amazingly beautiful score and soundtrack to the successful Japanese anime film Princess Mononoke. Now he has gracefully re-created 8 of those original pieces with the complimentary sounds of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra on a "Symphonic Suite" version of Princess Mononoke. Each movement has been brilliantly conducted and orchestrated with Hisaishi himself playing piano alongside the orchestra.

THE SOUND OF RIO: BRASILEIRINHO
Just as with Moro no Brasil, released earlier in 2006, The Sound of Rio: Brasileirinho deserves a soundtrack as well. The soundtrack captures the best moments, in full-length songs to bring them out of their film roots and assemble them into a meaningful Choro compilation album. This includes a feature on the established Trio Madeira Brasil, comprised of Ronaldo do Bandolim, Marcello Gonçalves and Zé Paulo Becker, and much more.

SPIRITED AWAY
This international animated blockbuster is scored by renowned composer Joe Hisaishi who, in his two-decade composing career, has produced orchestral music, electronic music, a prodigious amount of piano work and rock and pop. STONED
Stoned chronicles the life and suspicious death of Rolling Stones original guitarist and co-founder Brian Jones (Gregory), who was found at the bottom of his swimming pool weeks after being let go from the band. Packed with sex, drugs and rock and roll, the film explores the wild and wicked world of Brian Jones.

The soundtrack does the same: including ’60s-fueled rock and roll, new renditions of rock classics and David Arnold’s eclectic score, songs from the hit British band, The Band of Bees (aka The Bees), and Kula Shaker’s version of Dylan’s “Ballad of a Thin Man.” Stoned creates a musical journey through one of the most infamous rock and roll deaths of all time.

U-CARMEN EKHAYELITSHA
Canada release only.

Georges Bizet's Carmen first premièred in Paris on March 3, 1875 and has since become one of the most popular operas in the world. Originally based on Prosper Merimee's novella and adapted into a libretto by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halevy, Carmen was set in a poor area of Seville and tells a visceral tale of love, jealousy, revenge, desire and madness. THE WORLD'S FASTEST INDIAN
The title of The World’s Fastest Indian refers to the classic Indian Scout motorcycle that was the prized possession of New Zealander Burt Munro, played by Sir Anthony Hopkins. All his life, he dreamed of reaching a goal that seemed impossible and sublimely innocent: to be the fastest man on earth. The riveting Sir Anthony Hopkins stars as the famous speed king in this celebration of a singular obsession with motorcycle racing and a boundless lust for life. Scored by composer J. Peter Robinson (A Man Apart, Godzilla, Highlander, Wes Craven’s New Nightmare and Cocktail). With a 61-piece orchestra in front of him, Robinson scored a variety of cues, from a soft tender moment featuring pianist Mike Lang and violinist Bruce Dukov, to a tense action cue integrating a bit of electronic percussion that underscored a dramatic race sequence.

HANS ZIMMER - THE BRITISH YEARS
Academy Award Winner Hans Zimmer is a pioneer in the use of digital synthesizers, advanced computer technology, electronic keyboards and their successful integration with the traditional orchestra in music for film and television. to produce the worldwide hit, Video Killed the Radio Star and subsequent album The Age of Plastic. By 1980, Zimmer was pioneering the use of computers live on stage while working with the group Ultravox. In the early 1980’s, Zimmer began working with the film composer Stanley Myers. Realizing the importance of incorporating the two musical forms, electronic and classical, they went on to compose the music for the box office hits My Beautiful Launderette (Best Picture - Evening Standard Awards) and A World Apart. Based on a true story, this film was not just a coming of age for the voice of the struggle, but a musical turning point in Zimmer's career.
