June 11, 2002 - - MILAN RECORDS, presents the original motion picture soundtrack, THE DANGEROUS LIVES OF ALTAR BOYS. This O.S.T. Album features an original score by MARCO BELTRAMI (SCREAM Trilogy, BLADE II) and JOSHUA HOMME (founding member - QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE) with music performed by JOSHUA HOMME, NICK OLIVERI (Bass - QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE) and Drummer BRAD WILK (RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE). Also appearing on this impressive collection is the STEPHEN STILLS track, "Do For The Others," from his debut solo record and CANNED HEAT's, "On The Road Again."
Set in the 70s, the film is an adaptation of CHRIS FURMAN'S highly acclaimed 'rites-off-passage' novel. It focuses on two irreverent Catholic high schoolers (KIERAN CULKIN and newcomer EMILE HIRSCH) who express their pent up rebelliousness and hormonal confusion by creating a secret comic book depicting themselves as superheroes pitted against arch villains, their teachers (Jodie Foster and Vincent D'Onofrio as, respectively, a nun and priest).
This THINKFILM drama - which premiered at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival - stars KIERAN CULKIN, EMILE HIRSCH, JODIE FOSTER, JENA MALONE, and VINCENT D'ONOFRIO.
