LADY CHATTERLEY

LADY CHATTERLEY

About the Record

Lady Chatterley is a faithful adaptation of the second – and much less well-known – version of D.H. Lawrence's erotic tale. Set in 1921 England, the film reveals a story of passion that is both innocent and subversive, as it navigates a realm where nature, sex and romance merge into one powerful experience. Distributed in the U.S. by Kino International, the film will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, then open theatrically on June 22nd .

The film's music, penned by composer Béatrice Thiriet, was awarded a 2006 Golden FIPA (International Festival of Audiovisual Broadcast) in Biarritz. The film was also selected as Best Film at the 2006 César Awards (César is the French equivalent of the Oscar.)

The last song on the soundtrack, “Vogel Star,” is a previously unreleased track performed by Béatrice Thiriet. It is a poem that was written by Mozart in Prague for a late friend in 1797. In 2006, Kolja Micevic, on behalf of a festival in Banja Luka, offered Thiriet the honor of turning these Mozart verses into music, which she did with delight and respect.
