Black Book tells the story of a Jewish woman, Rachel Steinn (played by Dutch actress Carice van Houten ), who joins the Hague resistance during WWII after the Germans murder her family. Composer Anne Dudley is an English musician, composer, arranger and producer. Her work straddles the pop and classical worlds in a unique way. She has been writing music for films for
fifteen years. Her scores include The Crying Game , Buster , Pushing Tin and many others. She won an Oscar in 1998 for her score to The Full Monty . She has also written with and arranged for artists such as Pulp , Phil Collins , Jeff Beck , Seal and Elton John . Paul Verhoeven is one of the most provocative, daring, challenging and controversial storytellers creating films today. Director of four of the most successful Dutch films ever made, he is considered extremely influential to filmmakers in Hollywood. His widely seen work ranges from Basic Instinct to Total Recall . As diverse as his filmography may appear, each of his films reflect uncompromising vision, fascination with life's moral dilemmas and passion for the cinema. He has developed a reputation as a director whose unrestrained work is honest and often brutal with frank depictions of sexuality and violence.
